These Posters are a very far cry what I have seen the syracuse stage do before. I feel like they all miss the mark. The idea might have been there while the execution was no where to be found. The over use of drop shadows and glows make them look campy, which, judging by the title of the creative ‘activity’, maybe that is what they were going for. Very freshman attempt at what could be the best designed creative in syracuse.

There is a great site called gig posters that showcases different types of show posters, music and stage oriented. Take some notes and please try harder next time.

Thanks for the tip on Gig posters. It’s a terrific site. Your feedback is appreciated, positive or negative. I had trouble finding any of the earlier Stage posters online, I know Mike Wheeler and Emily Yurko did some great stuff the year before the Stage asked me to do the work, but I will say, of the ones in the lobby at Stage, their posters are the only ones that I would hold up as being great, the rest, not so much. It’s great client, but I think the reason I got the business is because they thought the previous work missed the mark. If your are a designer at Mower or maybe even a student, I think you should remember that for work to hit the mark, the client need to be happy too. Which they were with mine.
